Why I Chose PS4 Over The Xbox One!

Big news around the Sony Playstation 4, So what is all the hype about ? Well let me break it down on what was revealed about the PS4 at the E3 show in L.A. As well as a little bit about the Xbox One.

One of the big things is the Price for the PS4 which is $399 a whole $100 less than the Xbox One. Now why is this important to note ? Well that is because the PS4 offers a lot more than what the Xbox one does, well maybe, the Xbox One offers more than the PS4 does, but it offers something that we don't want. Let me explain.

First off there is some details stating that the Xbox One Console requires a Internet connection in order operate, this is false, However is does need to connect to Microsoft servers every 24 hours. So in a way it would be a pain having to connect to the internet everyday. Another bothersome feature is, say I go to a friends house and play his Xbox one but I am in my profile in order to do this Microsoft requires you to check in every hour, which I have to say is ridiculous. Now if you miss a check in you will only be allowed to watch Tv shows or play DVD's, no gameplay will be allowed until you check in again with home base.

Also to note is that in order to play games you will have to have internet connection throughout the gameplay unless 24 hours is all you  need, which is insane.

That is not the only ridiculous feature they added, one of the most troublesome add in is the inability to sell your games to a friend or even ebay. They set up where you can only sell a game to participating retailer, again ridiculous. You are however able to lend a game to a friend, then again Microsoft

adds another bogus
requirement which is games can be given only once and the person you give it to has to be on your friends list longer than 30 days. I truly think Microsoft is going to bring a lot of heat towards themselves from all gamers.

So that is what Xbox one is doing which is completely and incredible stupid, Now onto the PlayStation 4 whose hardware is mostly the same as the Xbox One. Some specs listed below for the PS4.
  •  An eight -core X86 AMD Jaguar CPU
  • 1084-teraflop AMD Radeon graphics engine (with "18 compute units")
  • 8GB of GDDR5 memory
  • 500GB Hard drive
  • Blu-ray drive
  • 3 USB 3.0 ports
  • 802.11 b/g//n WiFi
  • Ethernet, HDMI Bluetooth 2.1, optical audio and analog AV out

Now I know what your going to say, which is, Wow they copied Xbox One well I can tell you this the hardware may be similar but the Playstation 4 has the Total package minus the Xbox one's restrictions.

The PS4 is also similar is look with Piano black finish and a Box like form, some may say it looks like a PS2 on steroids.

First off lets move to the new Dual Shock 4 remote which I have to say is fantastic looking. The trigger buttons have been improved  and the shoulder buttons have become softer and more comfortable. The over all feel of the controller is Smooth, Lightweight and your able to grip the controller easier. However the D-Pad or Direction Pad is a bit close together. But who uses the D-Pad anymore now its all about the analog sticks which provide the right amount of feedback.

The controller has incorporated design like features of the Vita bring enhanced rumble, touchpad, share button which I love by the way, a standard head/microphone jack and a light up bar. The two fingered touchpad is located in the middle of the controller, the controller also sports a Micro USB port and Bluetooth 2.1 as well as Six Axis gyroscope/accelerometers.

Now onto the look of the console itself, which I have to say looks like something you'd see a alien child playing. It looks very space agish, Sleek and boxy as well.

Now onto the games and the non restrictions that Sony has implemented unlike Microsoft's Xbox one. You are able to play used games and don't have to verify your games online, also its up to the 3rd party publishers the rules on used titles.

Playstation Plus services is 50 bucks per year, a subscription will be required to play online multiplayer games, However you won't need Plus in order to use PS4's Media services.

GaiKai which is a Cloud technology that was acquired by Sony will offer the ability to try games before buying via streaming, this technology will also allow you to broadcast your games progress via share button. However this technology won't be available until next year, but it will be available not just for the PS4 but also the PS3 as well for the Vita. So it is a Brave New World in gaming and who non other than Sony to take us there.

Some of the games that will be available are listed here
The Order, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and Infamous: Second Son, and The Dark Sorceror.
Sony is also adding massive 3rd-Party support. Sony may be offering the ability to play PS3 games on the PS4 via streaming or emulations this still needs more confirmation, But it looks like this is the answer to the virtual console.
The last and coolest thing I'd like to tell you is the integration with Social Networking and sharing. The Sony PS4 has done it well with the ability to share the last few moments of gameplay by pressing the share button on the controller. I have to say it is brilliant what Sony has done with the share button, It also has the ability to chat during other peoples games. In conclusion of the PS4 I have to say I'd most definitely without a doubt chose the PS4 over the Xbox One anyday. Now it Microsoft decided to ditch the restrictions and unnecessary run around I may consider choosing the Xbox One a little longer than a few seconds.
